EDMONTON - Alberta, along with Newfoundland and Labrador, will post the biggest average salary gains in Canada next year, according to a national compensation survey conducted by Hay Group.

The expected uptick will see average salaries in the two resource-rich provinces jump by 3.4 per cent in 2012. Saskatchewan will follow, at 3.2 per cent.

The projected gains compare with forecast average national salary increases of 2.8 per cent for 2012 and 2.6 per cent this year, says Hay Group, a global management consulting firm.

The findings reflect results from a survey of 665 public and private-sector organizations, including many of Canada’s largest companies, the firm says.
