Puddles, Potholes & CONSTRUCTION
Aaah, sunshine! Spring in Edmonton means puddles, potholes, and the start of CONSTRUCTION season!!
Along with major projects such as the closure of Scona Road (more info to follow for Strathcona residents!), a number of Edmonton neighborhoods are scheduled for the City of Edmonton Neighborhood Renewal Program. These lucky neighborhoods get new streets, streetlamps, sewers, gutters and sidewalks. The city is planning on working on 29 neighborhoods between 2011 and 2018.
HereWork is planned to completely replace roads, curb and gutters, sidewalks, and streetlights in 29 neighbourhoods from 2011-18.

Preventative Maintenance 2011 Neighbourhoods
Roads are resealed with a thin asphalt ride surface. Microsurfacing candidates have good road conditions and are typically applied 10-12 years after road reconstruction or resurfacing.
Overlay 2011 Neighbourhoods
Roads are repaved and sidewalk panels are treated to eliminate safety hazards. Overlay candidates have fair to poor road condition and good sidewalk condition.
Reconstruction 2011 Neighbourhoods
Roads are repaved, and sidewalks and streetlights are replaced. Reconstruction candidates have poor sidewalk condition and fair to poor road condition.
Alley Reconstruction 2011 Neighbourhoods
